Taurinus Support

Due to a family emergency among our close-knit team, Libiquity is currently not accepting new orders. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience.

Password Reset

If you've forgotten your password on your Taurinus personal computer, you can boot into a rescue shell to reset it. The following instructions assume the use of libreboot version taurinus-20150612 and Trisquel, the boot firmware and operating system that typically come installed on Taurinus computers. Customers who install different boot firmware or operating systems on their Taurinus computers may have to adapt the instructions as necessary.

  1. With the computer powered off, press the power button. Within one second of the boot menu appearing, press the E key.
  2. You should now see a screen full of code. Look for two lines beginning with linux . Navigate to each line using the arrow keys, press the End key, press Space, and type init=/bin/bash. When done editing both lines, press either the F10 key or Ctrl+X (hold Ctrl, press X, and release Ctrl).
  3. Within a few seconds, you should see a command prompt line ending with # . Type passwd username, where username is either your username (not your display name) or root for the superuser. Press the Enter key. Type a new password when prompted (it will not be displayed as you type it) and press Enter. Retype your new password and press Enter again. Repeat this step to reset a password for another user.
  4. You should see a command prompt again. Type exec /sbin/init and press Enter to boot into your full system.

Congratulations! You should now be able to log into your computer using your new password.
